My interest in photography began when a neighbor lady showed me how to develop film and make black & white prints when I was about ten years old.
In high school I was our photography correspondent to our city newspaper, "The Lorain Journal". Then in the US Air Force I freelanced for various base and command publications while holding down my full time responsibilities in air traffic control in Texas then Tokyo. I also created photographs for base little theater groups and photographed weddings in the chapel.
After the Air Force I worked for several Ohio newspapers then in 1969 started freelancing full time.
For six years I lived in Pittsburgh serving clients such as Gulf Oil, United Press International, Bell of Pennsylvania, Westinghouse, Harbison-Walker Refractories and more. My largest project spanning several years involved creating over 1,000 television commercials for a New York advertising agency - all were on location in large cities across the country and I had no crew.
Since moving to Atlanta in 1976 I've created photographs for clients in many fields such as advertising, construction, architecture, public relations, industrial, editorial, theater and film.
Even though many of my assignments are now completed using digital media, I still prefer film - especially big and beautiful 4x5 inch view cameras.
Recently I moved into a two story building in Chamblee, Georgia about 2 blocks from the intersection of Peachtree Indusrial and I-285. This facility has a large makeup/dressing room with a private bath, multi-media waiting room and even a full service kitchen!
Most Sunday mornings you can find me singing bass in choir at Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Brookhaven - the real highlight of my week.
